Meet the person behind CookForMe

Hi, I'm Alona, a professional chef with 10 years of experience.

I trained at a European culinary school and worked in restaurants in Kyiv and Berlin, including two years as a sous chef in a top Berlin sushi restaurant.

For the last two years, I've been cooking for families in their homes. I mainly cook international food, with a focus on Mediterranean and Asian flavours. I also work with vegan, gluten-free, and other special diets.

I started CookForMe because I kept seeing families pay a lot for very little. Meal kits still needed cooking. Delivery was expensive. And neither was made for the family.

I wanted to do something more useful.

I started cooking for friends with newborns, then their friends, and then more families.

Today, we work with a network of professional chefs across Berlin.

Someone in our home and kitchen?

We understand that having someone cook in your home is a big step.

Every professional chef has a Gesundheitszeugnis, hygiene training, and their own liability insurance. We check their qualifications before they cook for any family. You can also message your chef on WhatsApp before booking. During the session, you can carry on with your day, and the kitchen is cleaned before the chef leaves.

Where does the chef cook?

In your own kitchen - Koch für zuhause. Nothing is made in a factory. The groceries are yours: you buy them, or we order and you approve the list first. You see exactly what goes into your family's food. The chef cleans the kitchen before leaving.

Do you cook for new parents?

Yes. Most Wochenbett food in Berlin arrives as a delivery box on a fixed weekly menu. We cook in your kitchen instead, on your menu, and fill your freezer with portioned meals you can reheat one-handed - enough to cover the weeks after friends and family stop bringing food.
